First day: Arrival in Istanbul and transfer to the hotel

For the itinerary to proceed as planned, arrival should take place on a Thursday or Saturday. If you arrive on a different day of the week, please contact our agents so that we can adjust your travel itinerary.

After passing through the arrival hall and completing the necessary immigration formalities, you will collect your luggage in the baggage claim area. Next, you will meet our representative in the airport reception hall. They will be holding a sign with your name at the exit.

Once we meet you at the airport, we (the team from Turkey Guide) will take you to the hotel reserved for that night (you can check the details of the hotels included in this package at the end of the detailed itinerary). The hotel in Istanbul includes breakfast. If you prefer to include dinner in the reservation, please let us know, as we will add it to the package price.

Note: It is important for the passenger to provide the correct details of the arrival flight, as Istanbul has two airports, which can cause issues during reception if the details are not provided correctly. We can arrange reception at both airports at no additional cost.

If you have a significant amount of luggage upon arrival, please inform our team in advance so that we can send an appropriately sized vehicle. There will be no additional charge, as we have vehicles of various sizes.

We have included two domestic flights to facilitate transportation, as well as some overland segments at times when there is no better option.

Second day: Guided Tours in Istanbul (on Fridays or Sundays)

After breakfast at the hotel, our guide will be waiting for you at the agreed-upon location at 9 a.m.

Next, we will visit the following landmarks:

  • Hagia Sophia Mosque: Former basilica recently converted into a mosque. Currently considered one of the great works of world architecture (admission cost included in the price).
  • Roman Hippodrome: Area for chariot races (free entry).
  • Blue Mosque: Famous for its magnificent interior adorned with Iznik tiles, this work exudes captivating elegance (free entry).

After visiting these points, you and our guide will take a break for lunch (optional lunch).

Around 1 p.m., we will continue the tour with the following visits:

  • Basilica Cistern: The largest of Istanbul’s cisterns in the Byzantine era. This building was constructed in a few months during the year 532 and features 336 Roman columns (admission cost included in the price).

At the end of our tour, we will explore the Grand Bazaar. Located in the historic district of Eminönü, it is one of the oldest markets in the world, with 3000 shops offering food, jewelry, carpets, ceramics, and more (free entry).

Accommodation in Istanbul is included for this night.

Note: After visiting the Grand Bazaar, our guide will take you back to the hotel, or if you prefer, you can stay longer at the site, returning to the hotel unaccompanied whenever you wish.

Third day: Bosphorus Cruise and Asian Side Tour (on Saturdays or Mondays)

After breakfast, our guide will be at your hotel at 9 a.m.

Next, we’ll embark on a full-day tour in Istanbul, visiting the following attractions:

  • Egyptian Bazaar*: Also known as the “Spice Market,” it was built in 1660 during the Ottoman Empire. It is one of the oldest markets in the world and the second-largest in Istanbul, second only to the Grand Bazaar (free entry).
  • Topkapi Palace: Building that housed sultans from the 15th century until the mid-19th century. We will visit only the outer courtyard, the main gate, and the museum walls.
  • City walls and the Sarayburnu coastline.

Around 1 p.m., we will continue the tour with the following activities:

  • Bosphorus Boat Cruise: The Bosphorus Strait is a 36 km channel that separates the European continent from the Asian continent.
  • Walk through Eminönü Square: A famous location in Istanbul that houses the beautiful Yemi Cami Mosque, marking the city’s silhouette and representing Islamic art in Turkey’s financial capital.

Next, we will cross the Galata Bridge to the Karakoy neighborhood (optional).

After the tour in the Karakoy neighborhood, our guide will take you back to the hotel. If you prefer, you can say goodbye to our guide and continue exploring the neighborhood until the desired time.

Accommodation in Istanbul is included for this night. The evening is free for personal exploration.

Fourth day: Travel to Cappadocia and Accommodation in Cappadocia (on Sundays or Tuesdays)

On this day, we will meet you at your hotel in Istanbul three hours before the domestic flight time. Our driver in Istanbul will pick you up and take you to the airport for the flight to Cappadocia. We will arrive at the domestic terminal entrance, where you will check in for your flight.

The airport check-in for this flight is straightforward: you only need to present the passports with electronic tickets that we will provide in the voucher to the airline staff (CIA TURKISH AIRLINES).

After landing at the Cappadocia airport, either NAV or ASR, you will retrieve your luggage and meet our local representative in the arrival hall. They will be holding a sign with your name.

Next, we will load your luggage into the trunk of our vehicle and begin the journey to the hotel in Cappadocia.

The evening is free in Cappadocia.

Dinner is included at the hotel with a buffet if you choose a conventional hotel. If you opt for a cave hotel, we won’t have a programmed dinner. This is because the cave hotels we work with are close to centers where there are more dinner alternatives.

Note* If you need assistance with check-in, please communicate in advance. We will send a representative who works at the airport. Due to the timing, we do not ask our staff to go to the location as the airport is far from the city center. Usually, only in extreme cases, where we feel the passenger will have issues, do we provide this escort service.

(Important Notice) We typically issue tickets for flights departing from Istanbul in the morning. We avoid scheduling flights too late. Once we confirm the trip, we will issue tickets appropriately for this segment and inform you of the times. If the passenger wishes to stay longer in Istanbul, we can issue the ticket to Cappadocia for a later flight, such as in the evening. Just communicate this specific request for us to customize your trip.

Fifth day: Hot Air Balloon Ride and Tour in Cappadocia (on Mondays or Wednesdays)

Early in the morning, you have the option to participate in a hot air balloon ride, which is an optional attraction. Please communicate your preference to the guide the day before to confirm your spot.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on the full-day tour included in the package around 9 a.m. This tour covers the fairy chimneys and the incredible Göreme Museum.

Next, we will visit one of the typical semi-precious stone workshops in the region.

We will explore the valleys of Avcilar, Avanos, and Guvercinlik, which offer a spectacular landscape of fairy chimneys.

We will also have the opportunity to visit the famous museum of the underground city. This site is amazing for capturing the time of persecution! The visit requires some physical effort, but nothing worrisome or mandatory. If you cannot bend down and pass through these galleries, you can wait in one of the cafes located at the entrance of the attraction.

During the tour, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.

Dinner will be scheduled at the hotel. Accommodation will be in Cappadocia.

Note1: We can organize the balloon ride this morning. Please confirm your pre-booked spot with your guide.

The cost may vary due to seasonality.

We request your collaboration in determining your reservation in advance.

Note2: Option to stay in a cave hotel: Guia Na Turquia offers different accommodation options for its passengers. In Cappadocia, the most interesting style is staying in a cave hotel. We have more than 300 cave hotel options in the region. If you are interested in experiencing an establishment in this style, please inform us when requesting a quote.

Below the detailed itinerary on this page, you will find more answers to common questions related to these observations.

Note3* If you opt for accommodation in a cave hotel, there is an additional cost. Please consult one of our agents and inform about your preference.

Sixth day: Overland Journey to Pamukkale from Cappadocia Passing Through Various Cities in Turkey (on Tuesdays or Thursdays)

We will have breakfast at the hotel. Our guide will meet you at the hotel, and we will begin the journey towards Pamukkale.

On the way, we will make visits to the 13th-century Sultanhan Caravanserai of the Seljuks.

After cultural visits, some fun technical stops, and tours of various historic villages in Turkey, where you will have the opportunity to buy crafts and experience local flavors, we anticipate arriving at the hotel in Pamukkale around 7 p.m.

Note* Dinner at the hotel with a buffet and lunch during the segment with an executive menu will be included on this day.

Note2* The visit to Pamukkale may take place at the end of this day or be postponed to the next, depending on the arrival in the region. During the winter, the day darkens early, so in this case, we leave the visit for the next day. However, during the summer, we can arrive at an appropriate time in the evening, providing a calm visit without large bus groups.

It is essential to note that during the summer months, many tourist buses arrive to visit this place in the morning. Arriving for the visit in the evening, we enjoy a quieter environment, without large groups of tourists.

Note3: On this day, we will make a 600 km journey.

– How will the journey to Pamukkale be made: by car, bus, or plane?

Guide: The journey from Cappadocia to Pamukkale will be made in our vehicle, depending on the number of people in the group. This route provides an opportunity to learn more about the interior of Turkey. The stretch is long, yes, but the journey is not tiring because we usually make stops along the way, approximately every 1.5 hours. Additionally, there are no direct flights to this city from Cappadocia. Although there are flight options with layovers in Istanbul, it ends up not being advantageous as we would lose the whole day at airports and on flights. Therefore, we prefer to make this journey overland to explore more of the interior of Turkey.

Seventh day: Visit to the Natural Pools of Pamukkale, Ephesus, House of Mary, and Return to the City of Istanbul (on Wednesdays or Fridays)

Our guide will meet you at the hotel, and together you will head to the tourist site of Pamukkale, where the ancient city of Hierapolis and the natural pools of the Cotton Castle are located.

After the visit, the next destination is Selçuk, the city that houses the open-air museum of Ephesus. In the Ephesus museum, you will explore the ruins of the Odeon, Hercules Gate, Temple of Hadrian, the Magnificent Library, and the Greco-Roman theater.

Next, we will visit the most significant point of the journey, especially for the Catholic audience, which is the House of the Virgin Mary, where you will have the opportunity to offer your prayers and requests.

At the end of the tour, we will take you to the airport in Izmir for the return flight to the city of Istanbul. Usually, the flight lasts for 1 hour, departs at 21:45, and is operated by a Turkish Airlines plane. This flight is also included in the package.

Upon arriving in the city of Istanbul around 23:00, we will conclude our services for the package. If you wish to have an additional night of accommodation or any other service from this moment, please request this adjustment with our agent during the preparation of the package. Thus, the costs of extra services will be added to the advertised package value.

The flight we will book for this route is Turkish Airlines flight number TK2337, departing at 21:45 (the ticket for this flight is already included in the package value). This package is flexible for you to connect to other destinations from the moment you arrive in Istanbul, such as Greece, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Israel, or even Jordan.

If you wish to extend your trip to another destination from Izmir, without taking the return flight to Istanbul, we can adjust your continuation according to the plan (examples: Bodrum, coastal cities of Turkey, or an extension to the Greek islands).
