Santa Sofia

It was built in 537 by the Roman emperor Justinian. It was the largest Basilica in the Christian world until the seventeenth century.

Saint Sophia today is a history museum. Besides knowing an architecture and a millenarian construction, you will witness the legacies left by the Christians and Muslims of the previous centuries.

The cost of admission is  30 TL per person. Children under 12 years do not pay.  Photos are allowed.

Basilica Cistern

A Byzantine work. Built by order of Emperor Justinian to supply the basilica of Hagia Sophia. The construction was made with 336 columns that were taken from ancient pagan temples and was built with a capacity of 80 million cubic meters of water. It is a super exotic environment and still stands out for having an image with two Medusa heads. A place that has stairs and little light.

Cistern is a place of visit that has an entrance cost of 20 lire. Children under 6 years do not pay. Photos are allowed.

Grand Bazaar

With our company, you will know the best shops in the bazaar and will have a general idea about the quality of the city and the country and we can help you with the translations, negotiations of purchases. Grand Bazaar is the first covered mall in the world and since 1461 pleases many its visitors. Jewelry stores, scarves, carpets, decorations and jewelery are beautiful and many varied. We prefer to accompany our passengers on this visit to prevent any problems that may occur with the vendors.

COMMENTS

  • In the blue mosque, in the Santa Sofia, in the Cistern is allowed photography and filming. To use a professional camera or other equipment such as a tripod, you must ask for local authorization. Please send us an e-mail for more information:  email
  • To visit the Blue Mosque, it is necessary to take off your shoes and have suitable clothes. On Fridays the mosque is closed until after the midday prayer, so we leave the Mosque for the end of the day.
  • We usually look for typical things for lunch. So, we are looking for very simple places where the people of the city have lunch. They are not luxury places (unless you want to) but the food is good.
  • Entries are not included in the daily rate. We bought the tickets for each person’s entrance to the places of visit and, at the end of the tour, we determined the value of the tickets separately from the guide’s daily value. We bought the tickets before, because the queues can be delayed, so it would already be an advantage and we can visit more points.
  • Meals are not included in the tour’s daily rates.
  • But if you want somewhere specific, know that we know the city very well and we know the best places. Please let us know your specific requests in advance so we can make restaurant reservations.
  • If you want Italian, Japanese, French or Latin restaurant, let us know your preference. In Istanbul there is everything, so we can choose any place together.
