ITINERARY DETAILS

Day 1:

Istanbul: Arrival, reception at the airport with poster and we will transfer you from the airport to the hotel. 

Day 2:

Istanbul: Breakfast. We will leave for St. George’s Cathedral, Patriarchal Orthodox Church and seat of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople who in 2006 received a visit from Pope Benedict XVI. We will continue to visit the Byzantine Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque with its interior covered by 21403 turquoise tiles. We will continue with the visit of Hagia Sophia, which marks the heyday of Emperor Justinian. During the visits we will stop for lunch (included). Our tour will end your free time at the Spice Bazaar, which is an essential destination for lovers of international cuisine, where countless types of spices, peppers, nuts, nuts, Turkish sweets and a wonderful selection of teas are sold. 

Day 3:

Istanbul – Cappadocia: Breakfast. Departure to take the internal flight to Cappadocia. Continuation to discover this fantastic region unique in the world where Saint George was born, with its fascinating and original landscape, formed by lava. Visit to the underground city. Visit to the Göreme valley and open-air monastery with chapels carved in the rock and decorated with frescoes from the 10th and 11th centuries. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 4:

Cappadocia: Breakfast. We will go for a walk in the region of Avanos with several stops, where you can enjoy a fantastic landscape of the “Fairy Chimneys”. We will visit a pottery museum. We will stop at the Hanedan restaurant for lunch (optional) which was built as a replica of the Seljuks Seljoukide caravanserai, an imposing fortification used for the protection and shelter of the silk route traders. We will stop at the village Uçhisar or Ortahisar and we will be able to admire the natural fortress where the houses were built around and inside the rocks in curious ways. During the discovery of the region and the villages, we will have stops to visit craft centers where we will be able to know the wonderful work done by the local craftsmen. Dinner and accommodation. On this day we will have the opportunity to contact the balloon ride locally. (The value of this optional balloon ride varies depending on season.)

Day 5:

Cappadocia – Pamukkale: Breakfast. Departure to continue the trip to Pamukkale. Dinner and accommodation at our hotel with the opportunity to bathe in the thermal pools.

Day 6:

Pamukkale: Breakfast. Departure to Pamukkale, famous for its thermal waters, the cascades of petrified calcium that form a unique spectacle with its white cotton mountains. We will visit the ancient city of Hierápolis, as its name indicates “The Sacred City”. We will take the opportunity to visit the charming museum to appreciate the sculptures of the Roman era and we will have free time to stroll in the natural pools. Then, we will visit Laodicea, a charming city that is part of the 7 Churches of the Apocalypse in Asia, mentioned in the Bible as the Morna Church. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 7:

Pamukkale – Ephesus – Izmir: We will leave to visit Ephesus where we will visit Agora, Odeon, Trajan’s Fountain, Hadrian’s Temple, Theater, Library of Celsius. We will visit the House of Virgin Mary, where it is believed that the mother of Jesus lived the last years of her life, declared a relic by the Roman Catholic Church in 1896. We will stop at a lambskin center. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 8:

Izmir – Bursa – Istanbul: Breakfast. Departure to Bursa, which was the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. Visit to the Mesquita Verde neighborhood with its silk markets. Continuation to Istanbul. Overnight stay.

Day 9:

Istanbul: Breakfast. Free day. We suggest OPTIONAL sailing tour through the Bosphorus. Description of the tour: We will go out to visit the Topkapi Palace; the sultans’ first residence, you can be dazzled by its splendid porcelain collections, its famous treasure, its pavilions. Embark on a fascinating tour over the waters of the Bosphorus, which separates Asia from Europe and connects the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea. Lunch included. We will end our day with a visit to the famous Grand Bazaar which was the first and largest Shopping Center in the world with its 4.ooo stores. Free dinner and accommodation. The value of the optional tour is 80 euros per person.

10th day:

Istanbul: Breakfast. At the appointed time, transfer to the airport.
